Model UN

In March 2012, Falu Frigymnasium will arrange Model United Nations in Falun, with 150 delegates participating.

In March 2012, Falufri will arrange ”Model United Nations” in Falun, with 150-200 delegates participating. Many of our own students will take part as delegates, and we hope that invited students from Swedish, European and African schools, that we cooperate with, also will take part.

The organisation will consist of the General Assembly and three committees. English will be used as the working language.

Delegations, Committes & Issues

Here you will find: a list of all delegations participating in the Model UN of 2012, which committee you will work in and which issue to write resolution for. 

All the information you need about the preparations and the role play is to be found in the booklet A Quick Guide to Model United Nations.

Notice that You are required to use Times New Roman and size 12 when You write Your resolutions. We also kindly require You to save Your documents in the file formats .doc or .docx. Do not use the file format .pdf, please, as we wish Your resolutions to be open for changes during the Model UN week. 

Preparations January - March

Study you country and learn about its history, politics, religion, international relations and foregin policies.

Decide on identities for the delegates in your counry. E-mail the identities on February 10th to asa.gardbro@falufri.se

Study your issue (red number on the list) and write a resolution. Send it on March 9th to viktoria.akerblom@falufri.se

Read all the resolutions in you committee in order to prepare for lobbying and debate. The resolutions will be published on Falu Frigymnasium website from March 12th.

Write position papers - a short statement about the contry´s policies in all the issues. This is needed to be prepared for debating and voting in the General Assembly.

Write a short opening speach presenting your delegation.

Prepare for the role by choosing proper clothing; strictly formal or national costume.

All the texts are to be written in English. We would like to advice you to start writing early in advance since it takes a lot of time to find all the information you need!
